Disabilities: any condition of the mind or body that makes performing specific tasks more difficult. These disabilities can impact vision, movement, thinking, remembering, mental Health, and more, according to the CDC. 

 

Invisible Disabilities: a physical or neurological condition that is not visible outside but limits a person's movements, senses, or activities, according to the Invisible Disabilities® Association.

How Organizations Can Work to be More Inclusive According to the  Harvard Business Review

  • According to the Harvard Business Review, 90% of companies prioritize diversity. However, only 4% have considered those with disabilities in their initiatives.

    • Although Disabilities can affect those of any race, gender, ethnicity, or sexuality, supporting those with disabilities should still be considered an essential pillar in DEI initiatives

  • Make requirements for the job more straightforward and concise
